The Easter break is fast approaching and there’s some cracking fun ahead for all the family to hop along to.

Schools across Nottingham and the wider country will be breaking up on Friday March 27 and the holiday fun gets underway at certain attractions the very next day.

Check out the round-up below which includes an Easter panto, chocolate egg hunts and even the chance to meet the Easter bunny in his grotto.

Slick City in Redfield Road, Nottingham

The brand new slide park is sure to be busy as it’s the first school holiday since it opened. The only one of its kind, not just in the UK, but in the whole of Europe, has 16 slides for kids (and their parents) as well as the world’s first UV AirGlider and air-cushioned courts for football and basketball.

The action park, in Redfield Road, Nottingham, will open from 9am during the school holidays.

Visitors can book 90-minute or 120-minute sessions starting from £19.95 to £24.95 per person, while spectators can watch the action for free.

Weekly sensory sessions are also available on Mondays, priced at £14.95 with one free carer ticket included. The sessions offer a calmer environment with reduced noise and crowds.

It’s panto time at Mansfield Palace Theatre, oh no it’s not… oh yes it is. Even though pantomimes are traditionally associated with Christmas, Mother Goose is an ‘eggs-cellent’ Easter panto.

Helen Flanagan, Darren Day, and Basil Brush star in the fun story of Mother Goose, her silly son Wally and the magical Priscilla.

A show full of song, dance, colourful costumes and lots of laughter, you can see it on stage on March 30 at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are £20 children and £23 adults (plus delivery/admin charges). Reserve your seats here.

Time to get ‘egg-cited’ as Sundown Adventureland unveils a new Easter grotto. The nostalgic theme park for under-tens in Retford is opening a magical grotto where Eggbert the Easter bunny will be hiding, giving out chocolate to each child that visits him.

As part of this year’s celebrations, from March 28 to April 12, Sundown has the annual Easter Eggtravaganza trail, along with all the usual rides and attractions.

In the Four Seasons Arena, visitors can meet and take pictures with Sundown’s bear mascots Honey and Sunny, where they’ll also lead dancing sessions for those keen to show off their moves.

Youngers can take part in green-fingered activities, including cress-growing which they can take home and watch flourish.

Tickets to Sundown Adventureland start from £20 for adults and children over 90cm if purchased online, with children under 90cm entering for free. Admission to the Easter grotto is £4.95. Tickets can be booked here.

The Great Thoresby Easter Egg Hunt returns at part of the Eventing Spring Carnival, at Thoresby Park from Friday, April 3 until Sunday, April 5.

Keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny’s chocolate treats at a weekend full of fun for all the family.

Attractions include a vintage tractor parade, Hobby Horse Adventures and the elite equestrian competition, the Lycetts Grantham Cup, where some of the country’s top horse riders will battle it out.

Tickets are available here starting from £9.95 or get a family bundle for £35, which includes Sunday admission for two adults, two Easter egg hunt tickets for children and a Sunday car parking ticket.

Where better to enjoy the company of newborn lambs? The animals at White Post Farm, Farnsfield, have a spring in their step — and so do the staff after the farm won family-friendly attraction of the year at the recent Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards.

The farm has a host of fun events, crafts and games from Saturday, March 28 until Sunday, April 12 such as following the White Rabbit’s Teacup Trail to win a sweet treat.

Other activities include marshmallow toasting, face painting, glitter tattoos and meeting the lambs and the Mad Hatter. Prices start at £16.50 and family tickets are £64. Book here

The Wiggles are wiggling their way to Nottingham

The Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham has plenty of ideas for things to do with the family throughout the Easter school holidays.

The programme includes Horrible Histories – The Concert, on Sunday, March 29, The Wiggles Tree of Wisdom Spectacular on Tuesday, March 31, and Top Secret – The Magic of Science on Wednesday, April 1.

K-Pop All Stars is on Saturday April 4 and rounding off the Easter holiday fun is Brainiac Live on Tuesday, April 7. For further details click here.

Families can hop, bounce and play at the trampoline park for less over the Easter holidays. An Easter holiday pass will grant families ten 60-minute sessions for £30, making each session just £3 — a saving of 77 per cent.

The pass, which can be used from March 28 to April 13, gives access to interconnected trampolines, a drop slide, a foam pit and a basketball area.

Other activities, with separate admission include a Toddler Bunny Bounce on March 27 and Neon Night on Friday, April 3, at the trampoline park in Dabell Avenue, Bulwell. To book click here.

Billed as the perfect day out for all the family, the vintage funfair returns to Wollaton Park this Easter. It will run daily from Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, April 12 from 10.30am to 7pm.

All the traditional rides and attractions will return, with more than 100 years of history. Step back in time on carousels, Ferris wheels and helter skelters, dodgems and cakewalks.
