Transfer decision on Nottingham Forest man emerges ahead of key summer window

Nottingham Forest winger Jota Silva seemingly faces an uncertain future this summer. The end of the season will prompt something of a squad reshuffle on the banks of the Trent. Whether the Reds retain their Premier League status or suffer a drop into the Championship, incomings and outgoings are on the cards when the transfer window opens. Several players on Forest’s books have a question mark against them with regards to what happens next. It appears Jota is among that contingent. JOIN US ON FACEBOOK! His deal includes an option for the move to become a permanent one, but it has been claimed the club are not expected to take it up. According to Turkish publication Fanatik, the Portuguese will “definitely” move on once the campaign is over. It is said Besiktas are not planning to take up the €17 million (£15m) purchase option and have their sights set on sourcing a replacement out wide. Regular minutes have proved just as tricky to come by at his loan club as they were at the City Ground for Jota. He has made 14 league appearances for Besiktas, with all but four coming from off the bench. The wide man came close to joining Sporting Lisbon last summer, 12 months after his switch to the Reds from Vitoria Guimaraes. A deal was said to have been agreed between Forest and the Portuguese team but the move collapsed due to paperwork not being completed in time. He featured 37 times and scored four goals in the Garibaldi before completing his loan switch. Forest made strengthening out wide a priority last summer, bringing in Dan Ndoye, Omari Hutchinson and Dilane Bakwa. The trio have had mixed fortunes this term, however. With six games to go, Vitor Pereira’s squad remain in the thick of the Premier League relegation fight. They are also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and take on Porto on Thursday (8pm kick-off) in the second leg of their tie, with the score poised at 1-1.
