Nottingham Morrisons: Man threatens worker with syringe

Published on

A 40-year-old individual has received a prison sentence after attempting to take merchandise without payment and then menacing employees using a medical syringe. Craig Noble entered the Morrisons convenience location on Broxtowe Lane in Aspley on the first day of November and attempted to exit with a basket of products. When workers confronted him, he produced a syringe and indicated he would use it to harm them. Approximately half an hour afterward, Noble came back to the establishment, prompting personnel to contact law enforcement. Authorities located and detained Noble, who still possessed the syringe. While initially rejecting the allegations, Noble ultimately admitted guilt to charges of attempted theft and carrying a pointed implement in a public setting. At Nottingham Crown Court on April 14, a Tuesday, Noble was sentenced to a combined term of four years and one month. Sergeant Barnaby Taylor of Nottinghamshire Police stated that hard-working shop workers should not have to face such terrifying conduct from an offender.
