Confirmed: Forest’s team to face Burnley with Anderson decision

Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira has revealed his starting lineup for this afternoon’s vital Premier League encounter with Burnley. The club has a significant chance to create some separation from the relegation battle along the River Trent. Six matches remain in their fight to avoid the drop, though the bottom of the table remains remarkably congested. Tottenham Hotspur narrowed the margin to Forest to just two points after their 2-2 stalemate with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. West Ham United sit immediately beneath the Reds in the standings, just one point back, and face Crystal Palace on Monday evening. Pereira’s squad enters this match carrying their longest unbeaten stretch of the entire season, having extended that run to six matches across all competitions on Thursday. Their 1-0 win over Porto at the City Ground secured a 2-1 aggregate victory and clinched a spot in the Europa League semi-finals, where Aston Villa await. Managing the demands of competing in multiple competitions has proven difficult for the team throughout the year, and their midweek triumph came at a price. Chris Wood, Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi all limped off during the match against the Portuguese side. Both Murillo and Wood have recovered in time to start today’s game. Midfielder Elliot Anderson missed the Porto fixture following the passing of his mother, but the England international returns to the XI today. Pereira has made four alterations to his starting eleven from the European encounter. Matz Sels, Nikola Milenkovic, Anderson and Dilane Bakwa replace Stefan Ortega, Jair Cunha, Nicolas Dominguez and Dan Ndoye. Sels will operate behind a defensive unit comprising Ola Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo and Neco Williams. Anderson will pair with Ibrahim Sangare in central midfield. Bakwa will join Morgan Gibbs-White and Omari Hutchinson in supplying the attack for striker Wood. The substitutes bench consists of Ortega, Morato, Taiwo Awoniyi, Dominguez, Igor Jesus, Ryan Yates, Jair, James McAtee and Luca Netz. Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Sangare, Anderson; Bakwa, Gibbs-White, Hutchinson; Wood. Subs: Ortega, Morato, Awoniyi, Dominguez, Jesus, Yates, Jair, McAtee, Netz.
