The venue has not posted any update on its Facebook page, and no notice is visible in its windows. Online search results show the business as temporarily closed. This contemporary Thai food spot last engaged with social media on March 2, promoting a Mother’s Day deal: mothers who dined would receive a complimentary fruit punch drink. Diners could choose from Thai street food favourites, noodle bowls, and the restaurant’s signature offerings, including whole crispy sea bass served with a spicy salsa and the classic weeping tiger, which features grilled sirloin steak with a fiery sauce. The establishment also catered to vegetarian guests with meat-free selections such as massaman curry made with tofu and vegetables, alongside stir-fried mock duck in black pepper sauce. The venue had received strong positive reviews in past assessments. One recent evaluation, published roughly a month ago, described the restaurant as one of the best Thai restaurants in Nottingham, noting it had never failed them, praising the delicious food, cute interior, and friendly staff, with amazing prices. Another customer commented that having visited Thailand, they could confirm the food was authentic, fresh and delicious, and that they finished with the mango sticky rice, which they felt was as good as the sticky rice at the Michelin-starred place in Bangkok. They also noted it was good value for money and that they would return. Paste first opened its doors in February 2018—before that, the same address housed another Thai establishment called Thailand No. 1. Following the pandemic, the retail unit was split, with part becoming Yi Fang, a bubble tea outlet. Online directories now mark the venue as permanently closed.
