Officers are searching for an individual following a series of thefts from businesses in a Nottinghamshire town.
Nottinghamshire Police have named Ray Canham as a person of interest in twelve thefts from retail premises in Newark throughout this year.
Enquiries are ongoing after half a dozen different outlets were victimised – with some being robbed repeatedly – by a single shoplifter during the period spanning late February to late June.
Detectives stated that chocolates, washing supplies, meat, butter and cheese were all removed from store shelves during these incidents.
The force has indicated that Canham has been connected to each of the offences and officers are working to establish his current location.
The man, aged 52, who is now without a permanent residence, is additionally subject to a prison recall.
Sergeant Kate Taylor explained that officers have been examining every one of these commercial thefts since they occurred and have successfully established Ray Canham as a suspect.
She stated that investigators are therefore attempting to locate him to pose some questions.
Members of the community can assist by distributing any information they possess regarding where he might be found.
Taylor also called upon Canham himself to come forward if he sees this appeal, so that officers can speak with him and possibly eliminate him from their active investigation.
