A major thoroughfare near the Queen’s Medical Centre was shut down by emergency services while officers responded to a situation.
Nottingham Travelwise, the city’s travel monitoring service, reported at approximately 7am on Friday, July 31, that the southbound carriageway of Middleton Boulevard had been blocked before its intersection with QMC Island because of a road traffic crash.
Vehicles were redirected around the closure and motorists were advised to find alternate routes.
Nottinghamshire Police then announced at 7.13am that it had sealed off the A52 Clifton Boulevard in the vicinity of the hospital because officers had welfare concerns for an individual.
A force spokesperson stated that Clifton Boulevard had been closed near the medical facility as they addressed safety worries for a person, with drivers asked to stay away from the area if possible and thanks expressed for public patience during the operation.
Shortly afterwards, police confirmed the situation had been safely resolved and the road was reopened.
The Nottingham Express Transit tram service reported temporary suspension of operations between Meadows Way West and University Boulevard during the police response.
