A man suffered a broken jaw and a fractured eye socket in a serious assault that took place in Mansfield.
Nottinghamshire Police says the victim, a man in his 50s, sustained the injury during an attack in Mansfield’s Market Place.
The force believes the incident took place between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on the evening of Monday, July 13.
Officers are now asking for additional witnesses to come forward as part of their investigation.
PC Liam King said: “The victim in this case suffered some serious facial injuries and we are determined to get justice for him.
“To this end we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard a coming together between two men in the Market Place at this time.
