The fantasy miniatures company expanded its staff by 300 workers over the past year

The Nottingham-based firm Games Workshop, valued at billions and famous worldwide for its Warhammer 40,000 figurines, has distributed over £17 million of its earnings to its employees following another exceptional year.

The Lenton business, which ranks among the 100 biggest companies trading on the London Stock Exchange, revealed on Tuesday, July 28, that pre-tax profits for the year had risen to £275 million.

The recently released annual report from the highly prosperous city manufacturer, which creates and retails plastic models of fantasy warriors and creatures built by hobbyists everywhere, disclosed that £17.6 million of its profits were allocated to staff as a means to recognise their tremendous contributions.

Staff who qualified received a combined £5,000, delivered in two instalments during December 2025 and July 2026 under the company’s Group Profit Share initiative.

Chief Executive Kevin Rountree noted that team members had put in enormous effort to maintain the company’s profit margin at approximately 40 percent.

According to the company’s pay structure, up to one-tenth of its primary operating profit may be distributed to employees.

During the 2024/25 financial period, Games Workshop allocated £20 million for distribution, with each worker receiving £6,000.

The Nottingham-based success has driven significant recruitment activity in recent years, having expanded rapidly over the last ten years.

Staff numbers increased substantially to 3,321 by 2026, compared to 3,015 the previous year.

The firm’s 2025/26 report indicated that the city employer was expanding production capabilities in its Nottingham base, committing tens of millions toward designing and manufacturing miniature figures at its Willow Road site.

During the previous year, £21.9 million was invested in the Warhammer studio, where roughly 460 individuals develop fantasy miniatures, with an additional £7.6 million directed toward equipment, primarily for new plastic model production.

Games Workshop’s financial statements noted that the property acquired on Easter Park, adjacent to its Willow Road location, was now functioning as a painting facility after being bought in 2025.

Construction of its fourth Lenton production facility was also substantially finished, having been handed over earlier in July.

The business’s new £9 million building, which replaced a former council transport depot, will handle product packaging before installation of the costly injection moulding equipment required to manufacture millions of Warhammer figures.
