Detectives are seeking to identify two individuals captured in footage relating to an incident in which an 11-year-old boy was knocked from his scooter before one of the attackers threatened a bystander with a large knife.

The child was riding along Burton Road in Carlton during the afternoon of Thursday, 16 July, at approximately 4.45pm when two people on a moped approached him.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police reported that the boy was pushed off his scooter, and when a passer-by attempted to help, one of the riders produced a cleaver.

According to the force, the two offenders then made off with the scooter towards Netherfield following the robbery on the street.

Investigating officers have now published pictures of two people they believe may hold significant details about the incident.

Detective Constable David Hanmore, from Nottinghamshire Police, stated that investigators are keen to interview the two people visible in the images and hear their version of events.

He explained that while the quality of the photographs is not ideal, the notable balaclava and garment worn by one of the individuals could prove helpful in establishing their identity.

The officer noted that the young victim was left extremely distressed by the assault and appealed to anyone possessing any information or relevant footage to contact police immediately.

Those able to help should dial 101 and reference incident number 576 of 16 July, 2026, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity is guaranteed.
