Nearly three years have passed since The Bagel Project launched in Nottingham — and the owners have announced a fourth location is coming soon. Existing branches operate on Carlton Street in Hockley, Mansfield Road in Sherwood, and Carrington Street close to Nottingham Railway Station. The upcoming store will occupy Gordon Road in West Bridgford, in the premises that housed Doughnotts until last month. Renovation work is already in progress. One enthusiast commented: “This is the best news I’ve ever heard.” The Bagel Project was established by Tom Benjamin and Oliver Bohn. The outlets offer freshly baked, handmade New York-style bagels and desserts — all produced at their Sherwood bakery. Beyond traditional options like plain, poppy seeds and ‘everything’ varieties, customers can choose from non-standard fillings such as cream cheese with smoked salmon, bacon and egg, along with more adventurous options like Chinese chicken, ‘The Italian’, barbecue pulled pork and hoisin duck. These are accompanied by a selection of hot and cold beverages, including matcha. The new establishment will sit on a road already popular with food enthusiasts, featuring Bombay Deli, No. 8 Deli and Okende coffee shop. While a specific opening date remains undetermined, locals can sample the offerings beforehand: the bagel van will visit on Saturday, April 25, providing a complimentary breakfast bagel to members of a 5km running club who secure their spot through their Instagram page.
