Midfielder Elliot Anderson has been ruled out of Nottingham Forest’s clash with Porto this evening following a family bereavement. The England international did not train yesterday ahead of the quarter-final second leg at the City Ground . Head coach Vitor Pereira said in his pre-match press conference he was unsure whether Anderson would be available for the game. Ahead of kick-off, Forest said in a statement Anderson would not be available following the death of his mother. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the Anderson family at this difficult time.” The Reds go into tonight’s game against their Portuguese opponents with the score delicately poised. It finished 1-1 in Portugal last week, leaving things delicately poised on the banks of the Trent. Forest are five unbeaten going into tonight’s game amid a positive impact made by Pereira since his appointment. Balancing the demands of pushing for European glory while fighting for survival in the Premier League continues to be the challenge for the Portuguese. His team drew 1-1 at home to Aston Villa at the weekend. Neco Williams’ equaliser clinched a big point for the hosts in their battle to avoid the drop.
