Police in Nottinghamshire are appealing for the public’s help in identifying people they hope could be the key to solving several important cases.

The force has shared images of people they would like to speak to, hoping to gather information about various incidents.

Anyone who recognises those pictured has been asked to call the force on 101, or make contact via the police Facebook page or website.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and give the identity of the person shown, quoting the reference number accompanying the picture. Information can also be given online via their website.

The appeals date back to the beginning of March and relate to a number of different crimes, varying from assaults and robberies to one case in which a chemical substance was sprayed in a tram driver’s face.

Police have released images of 15 people, connected to eight cases, which can be seen below:

Appeal to find wanted man after sex assaultOfficers are trying to trace 43-year-old Abbas Abadi after a sexual assault in Carrington Street, Nottingham, on Wednesday 18 March. Abadi has links to Ripley in Derbyshire and Stockport, Greater Manchester. Appeal to find wanted man after sex assault

Officers are trying to trace 43-year-old Abbas Abadi after a sexual assault in Carrington Street, Nottingham, on Wednesday 18 March. Abadi has links to Ripley in Derbyshire and Stockport, Greater Manchester. Detective Inspector Beth Sheard, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are keen to track down this suspect as soon as possible and would appreciate the help of the public.“If you have seen him or have any information on his whereabouts, please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 283 of 18 March 2026”

The incident happened outside a bar in Upper Parliament Street shortly before 10pm on 7 February. Appeal after attempted robbery inside car parkPolice investigating an attempted robbery have released images of a man they would like to speak with. The victim was approached by two males in Victoria Centre Car Park, close to the York Street entrance, at around 9.30pm on March 4. The two males grabbed the man and attempted to take his mobile phone and vape. The suspects fled empty-handed after a security guard approached. Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and bailed in connection with the incident. Police investigating an attempted robbery have released images of a man they would like to speak with. The victim was approached by two males in Victoria Centre Car Park, close to the York Street entrance, at around 9.30pm on March 4. The two males grabbed the man and attempted to take his mobile phone and vape. The suspects fled empty-handed after a security guard approached. Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and bailed in connection with the incident. As part of the investigation, officers would like to trace the pictured male and are appealing for the public’s help.

Police are appealing for help after a man was assaulted at a block of flats in Nottingham. The victim was attacked after answering the front door to the complex in Birken Avenue, Arboretum. Officers believe the man in this image will be able to assist their inquiries into the incident, which took place on December 11. The assault came to light when officers analysed footage relating to an unrelated incident. They have spoken to the victim who has no lasting effects from the assault. Officers have carried out a number of enquiries to trace the pictured man and are now appealing for the public’s help. Police investigating an assault on a security guard have released images of two people they would like to trace. The incident happened at the University of Nottingham’s Trent Building at approximately 6.30pm on February 19. It was reported the security guard was backed into a corner and pushed with force after challenging a group. PC Skyla Dodsley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an unacceptable incident and we believe these individuals will be able to help us with our enquiries. “If you know who either of them are, please contact us on 101 quoting incident 540 of 19 February 2026.”

The victim was driving the tram back into the depot, around 8pm on February 5, and had announced to passengers over the tannoy that they had reached the last stop at Shipstone Street, Hyson Green. After the tram had terminated, the driver exited his cabin when he was sprayed in the face with a bottle of suspected corrosive cleaning fluid. Some of the liquid went into his eye, leading to soreness and discomfort. Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out other lines of inquiry following the incident. The victim was driving the tram back into the depot, around 8pm on February 5, and had announced to passengers over the tannoy that they had reached the last stop at Shipstone Street, Hyson Green. After the tram had terminated, the driver exited his cabin when he was sprayed in the face with a bottle of suspected corrosive cleaning fluid.
