HMRC has released its updated list of Nottinghamshire businesses and bosses who have failed to pay tax.
HM Revenue & Customs routinely names and shames tax defaulters who have received penalties for either deliberate errors in their returns or for deliberately failing to comply with their payment obligations.
The taxman’s most recent update has revealed that 11 firms and business people from the county have been penalised for not paying their fair share of tax, with the amount of tax/duty owed by the companies totalling more than £2 million.
Tax officials made clear each entry was specific to the dates mentioned, so directors may have changed their behaviour, may no longer be at the published address, and the businesses or premises named may have changed hands.
“Everyone on this list had the opportunity to come forward to make a full disclosure – and didn’t,” said Kevin Hubbard, HMRC’s director of individuals and small business compliance.
“HMRC will always pursue those who deliberately refuse to pay what they owe.”
The amounts in the list relate to the tax/duty on which penalties are based and do not necessarily reflect the taxpayer’s full default.
Marcin Daniel Cajdler
The dentist, whose address was recorded by HMRC as Kenny Avenue, Wilford, Nottingham, has been named on the list.
Tax office records showed he had defaulted on £214,816 of tax from April 6, 2011, to April 5, 2019, and had been issued a penalty of £131,575.
