This university graduate discussed having sex with a six-year-old girl with a like-minded paedophile.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Chris Webber also shared horrific images of young victims being abused by adults during his raft of offending.

Police found almost 3,000 such pictures and videos which were collected over years when they raided his Ilkeston home and seized his devices.

And detectives also found that the 36-year-old, who failed in his ambition to joined the armed forces as a teenager, made internet searches using terms such as “jailbait” and “incest”.

Handing him a two-year jail term, suspended for two years, Judge Nirmal Shant KC said: “This is a very unusual and unique case and an unusual feature is that the distribution took place in 2015 more than 10 years ago.

“The images were also not uploaded to a public forum but to others who clearly shared your mindset at the time.

“The second batch of offending, the possession of the offences, is more than four years ago.

“The author of your presentence report says while there is some risk to the public there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation and that has persuaded me that your risk can be managed in the community.”

Sam Jones, prosecuting, said police were made aware of a Snapchat account, linked to the defendant which had been used to upload child abuse images to the internet.

He said on March 24, 2022 officers attended his address and seized a number of electronic devices.

The prosecutor said: “The defendant was using the name ‘Pool Fun 23’ and had uploaded indecent images to the internet on the social media messaging site Kik.

“He used Kik messenger to share indecent images of children with other users and between June 2015 and November 2015, 10 category A images were distributed, seven category B and nine category C.

“There was a conversation between the user ‘Pool Fun 23’ and another Kik user in which he suggests that himself and the other user should get together and (have sex) unprotected and start their own incestuous family with daily (sex) for all daughters from the age of six.

“He then sent a cat A and a cat B image to this user.

“Indecent images of children were also found.

“There were 616 (of the most serious) category A images; 622 category B and 1,733 category C and an example of category A is of sexual activity involving a child as young as six.

“The images in this case were created between November 11, 2013 and August 12, 2016 and they were accessible at the time the laptop was seized on March 24, 2022.

“Found on the device were numerous search terms relating to indecent images such as ‘jailbait’ and file names opened including ‘paedo, Lolita and incest’.

“In interview, he denied knowing why he had been arrested and when asked if there would be images of concern he stated he had never seen indecent images of a child on his laptop.”

Webber, of Alvenor Street, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of indecent images, one count of possessing extreme pornography and three counts of distribution of indecent images of children.

He has no previous convictions of any kind and sobbed in the dock as his barrister urged the judge to suspend his inevitable prison term.

Tim Bass, mitigating, said: “It goes without saying that the court has a very anxious Mr Webber sitting in the dock today.

“He knows these were unpleasant offences and he recognises the gravity of his offending.

“But I would submit Mr Webber is someone who can be rehabilitated and treated in the community.

“This is someone who still finds it very difficult to talk about and he is incredibly embarrassed and ashamed especially with those who love him listening to this in the public gallery.

“They have stood by him and continue to support him

“As a teenager he had an ambition to join the armed forces and even went to Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College but failed his engineering and went to Loughborough University.

“This led to low esteem and failure and he turned to alcohol.

“This happened at a low point in his life and he has lost friends along the way.”

As part of the suspended sentence, the judge ordered the defendant to carry out 150 hours unpaid work and to attend 35 rehabilitation sessions.

She also handed him a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and placed him on the sex offender register for 10 years.
