More than 3,000 people flocked to a brand-new art experience in Nottingham, celebrating the paintings of two world-famous artists, on the opening weekend.
Beyond Monet and Beyond Van Gogh can be seen at the Motorpoint Arena until August 9.
Unlike a typical art gallery or museum, the artwork is living and breathing, making it an immersive experience.
Visitors can step into the world of French impressionist Claude Monet and Dutch painter Vincent Van Gough on alternate days.
More than seven million people around the world have visited the various installations which have been set up in different locations.
Anna Parry, business development director at Annerin Productions, said it had taken well over a year to bring the experience to Nottingham. She said: “We could tell there’s such a drive for arts and culture in Nottingham.
“The reason we’re at an arena is we need that large space. Our Immersive Room is 10,000 sq ft alone.”
In the Immersive Room, visitors are surrounded by a 360° projection of the artists’ work. In Beyond Monet’s case it includes the famous Woman with a Parasol — his wife Camille with their son Jean behind her — landscapes through the changing seasons and stormy seas.
The Reflection Room is the most photogenic, depicting Monet’s garden at Giverny with the Japanese bridge over a lily pond and Van Gogh’s Starry Night and larger-than-life sunflowers.
Yoga, brunch and high tea experiences are also available in the Immersive Room. Tickets are available from the website here.
