A Co-op Food outlet in a Nottinghamshire town remains shuttered two weeks after repair work commenced.
The outlet on Trent Boulevard in West Bridgford ceased trading earlier this month but has been unable to resume operations because the task is taking longer than initially expected.
The prolonged closure has sparked indignation among some local customers, particularly older residents.
One individual stated that he and fellow shoppers were finding it difficult to obtain food.
A senior who has lived in the area for a number of years said he had always been able to obtain a bottle of milk and bread, and questioned what was happening at the local Co-op store. He posted these comments in a neighbourhood Facebook group.
He said seniors in the area were really struggling to feed themselves.
A Co-op representative expressed regret to customers and indicated that employees were endeavouring to resume trading as swiftly as possible.
The representative said the company apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the Trent Boulevard store for maintenance.
The representative added that teams were working to reopen the store as quickly as possible to continue serving and supporting the community.
