Culinary delights, beverages, acoustic performances, canine competitions and recreational pastimes feature among the extensive lineup
Nottingham’s inaugural gastronomic celebration promises two days of appetizing offerings and amusement
A substantial summer gathering centred on cuisine, amusement and revelry is making its way to Nottingham for a two-day extravaganza situated alongside the River Trent.
The very first Nottingham Food Festival will be honouring delicious edible offerings, though that’s not the sole attraction.
Real music, artisanal merchandise, a canine exhibition, stand-up routines, a creatures encounter area, artistic facial designs and performers are also scheduled for this weekend, July 11 and 12, delivering a complete day of family-oriented amusement.
Victoria Embankment will transform into a vibrant space showcasing an eclectic combination of worldwide cuisine, overseas acts, regional finds, and a generous portion of the extraordinary.
The event’s coordinators mentioned that they prefer to maintain some mystery, though attendees can consistently anticipate surprising discoveries waiting just around the corner.
Set against the Victoria Embankment scenery, the Nottingham Food Festival encompasses more than cuisine. It’s about dedicating meaningful moments with cherished companions, discovering fresh experiences and collecting lasting impressions along the way.
Spend your afternoon settled in a deckchair enjoying acoustic performances, or engage fully with the interactive experiences and contests distributed throughout the grounds.
A diverse selection of independent entrepreneurs will be preparing an assortment of dishes from towering burgers to filled tacos in the al fresco dining quarter while the festival’s beverage stations will be providing mixed drinks, artisan brews, small-production spirits and superior wines, complemented by a traditional pub pouring an extensive selection throughout both days.
Specialty coffee, confections and baked goods mean guests will certainly not experience hunger or thirst.
Building on the epicurean atmosphere, several of the area’s most dynamic culinary professionals will dispense advice, techniques and creative concepts during cooking presentations viewers can replicate in their own kitchens.
The live culinary theatre will feature names such as MasterChef: The Professionals’ competitors Louisa Ellis and Hira Thakur, Trevor Hancock from The Unrefined Chef venture, and Toni Adam representing Red Velvet Bakery.
Junior cooking workshops will provide interactive sessions crafted to spark enthusiasm in budding food enthusiasts, complete with abundant sampling, acquiring knowledge and crafting experiences.
Spice enthusiasts will have the opportunity to demonstrate their courage in a competition to consume five progressively hotter peppers in one of the festival’s most compelling attractions.
The celebration will host acoustic performances throughout the weekend, featuring skilled local artists and popular ensembles alongside ABBA and Fleetwood Mac impersonators.
The Nottingham Samba Collective will inject rhythm and festive spirit, and revellers should watch for oversized bicycles, performers creating bubble displays, comic acts and roaming characters.
A makers’ marketplace will display regional craftspeople, handcrafted presents, oven-fresh items, indulgent nibbles, creative pieces, household accessories and exclusive products unobtainable on the main shopping streets.
Dogs are invited along and a canine exhibition will be led by television personality Neil Frost, honouring everything from most enthusiastic tail-wagging and imaginative attire to impressive tricks.
Children will have the chance to get up close with various tame creatures at a travelling farm area, and complimentary pursuits, amusements and contests will run throughout the weekend.
Motorists will discover complimentary parking beside the festival grounds on The Meadows New Sports Pavilion meadow.
The gathering operates from 10am until 8pm on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday. Entry passes are priced at £11.95 for grown-ups, £7.95 for youngsters (aged five to 16) and complimentary for those under five.
A complete two-day pass costs £15.95 for adults and £8.95 for children.
