The Labour Party candidate Abbas Hussain has secured victory in the Leen Valley ward by-election at Nottingham City Council.
According to the official count, Hussain received 689 votes to finish ahead of Parveen Begum from the Nottingham People’s Alliance, who accumulated 523 votes.
Stuart Frost represented Reform UK with 410 votes, while Hugh McGuiness of the Green Party obtained 378 votes.
Gail Stancliffe from the Conservative Party collected 189 votes and Liz Morgan-Danvers standing for the Liberal Democrats received 68 votes.
Voter participation reached 31.82 percent of eligible electors.
The outcome shifts the political balance on the council, with Labour now holding 44 seats, Nottingham People’s Alliance maintaining 6 seats, the combined Nottingham Independents and Independent Group at 4 seats, and one unaligned councillor.
