Emergency services responded to an incident involving a bus and a walker on a primary thoroughfare in Nottingham’s downtown area, resulting in road closures and temporary route changes for public transportation.
Officers arrived at Upper Parliament Street at 8.52am this morning following reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian. The male pedestrian was transported to medical facilities with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
By 9.30am Tuesday, Upper Parliament Street remained shut down at its intersection with Market Street due to the ongoing situation. The roadway reopened approximately one hour later.
The closure prompted NCT and Trentbarton services to establish alternate routes. A representative for NET trams indicated that no service operated between Nottingham Station and Royal Centre stops during the closure period. Tram operations have since resumed normal scheduling.
Nottingham City Transport issued an update via social media platform X indicating that Route Navy 4 was not servicing NTU City Campus or Burton Street, with vehicles instead beginning and concluding trips on Mount Street. Regular bus routes have been restored.
