CCTV images after pensioner knocked out in Nottinghamshire assault

Published on

Police have released CCTV recordings as part of their investigation into an attack that knocked a man unconscious in a Nottinghamshire town. Emergency services were called to Newgate Lane in Mansfield at approximately 9:50pm on Saturday, April 4 after reports emerged that a man aged over 60 had been knocked out. Detectives are hoping to speak with two people captured in the recently published images, who they believe hold vital information for their investigation. PC Harry Stevenson said the victim was fortunate to escape without serious harm, although the attack’s violent nature meant the consequences could have been considerably worse. He added that investigators believe the pair have key evidence and have now run out of other ways to track them down, which prompted the public appeal. He stated that anyone matching the descriptions or knowing who these people are should get in touch immediately. Anyone with pertinent information should ring Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 696 from April 4, 2026.
