A fresh sports retailer is set to launch in Nottingham, reportedly the first of its kind in the area. The shop will occupy a location in Bridlesmith Gate, a shopping district that was once praised as the city’s answer to Carnaby Street. After years of decline, the street has undergone significant revival in recent months, with numerous empty storefronts now taken over by reputable retailers and upscale dining establishments. Among the latest arrivals are vintage boutique Glass Onion and The Ivy, the latter having established its inaugural East Midlands outlet in the premises formerly housing Hugo Boss. A Goldsmiths jewellery and timepiece outlet is also preparing to open on the street, while the national bar group Flight Club is reportedly considering relocating there. Despite some vacancies remaining, a new venture is preparing to occupy the empty premises at 52 Bridlesmith Gate, previously home to the OFFseason footwear store. Window signage indicates a darts emporium called Dart Scene is on its way. The company, which operates another location in Heanor in Derbyshire, shared the announcement on its Facebook platform. According to the post, Heanor remains the company’s home but it is growing, and Dart Scene is coming to Nottingham’s city centre. The message continued that this is the company’s second store and not a relocation, with the same staff and same enthusiasm, just additional products and square footage now situated centrally in Nottingham, opening shortly. The establishment offers darts, flights and associated merchandise, including a collection developed in collaboration with professional player Luke Littler, who achieved renown as the sport’s youngest global title winner. The game of darts is undergoing something of a revival, partly due to Luke Littler’s emergence and growing participation in pubs. While no other dart specialists appear to operate within the city, sports retailers in Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Worksop do stock related products.
