Residents around a Nottinghamshire village have been told to “keep their windows and doors closed” whilst six fire crews deal with a blaze at a derelict building.
Firefighters are at the scene of a fire in Mansfield Road, in Clipstone, on Monday (March 30), having been called to the incident at 2.35pm.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) says it has six crews in attendance, from the Edwinstowe, Mansfield, Warsop, Newark, Ashfield and Worksop fire stations.
A water bowser was also helping tackle the fire. However, as of 4.45pm, this was “no longer needed” whilst the other crews remained at the scene of the incident.
“We are asking that people keep their windows and doors closed and avoid the area where possible,” a spokesperson for the fire service said.
They also added that the cause of the fire, which appears to have broken out at a former industrial building, has not yet been determined.
