Two men are facing murder charges and remain in detention ahead of their scheduled court hearing. Donatas Noreika, aged 37 and residing on Main Street in Milton, and Arturas Karvelis, aged 42 from Broad Street in Parkgate, Rotherham, are currently in police custody. Their case is scheduled for Nottingham Crown Court on April 20.
The investigation commenced following the discovery of the body of Orinta Narbutaite, a 32-year-old resident of Rotherham. Her remains were located on Main Street in Milton. Emergency services found her at 3.12 am on Friday, March 20.
The pair face charges of conspiracy to prevent a proper and dignified burial. Arturas Karvelis is also recognized in the local area by the alias Arturas Bockus.
The defendants made their first court appearance at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 23. Following this proceeding, they were ordered to remain in custody pending their next hearing.
Initially, four people were taken into custody. A 64-year-old male and a 60-year-old female have since been released without further action.
Nottinghamshire Police has submitted the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for independent review. This referral stems from the force’s prior contact with Orinta Narbutaite before her death.
