Three e-bike riders set upon lone pedestrian in Nottinghamshire village

A man was subjected to what has been described as a very distressing experience after being robbed while walking alone through a Nottinghamshire village.

The victim was making his way along Annesley Cutting in Annesley when three individuals on electric bikes approached him at approximately 2.30am on July 16.

Nottinghamshire Police stated that the three riders, who were reportedly all using Sur-Ron e-bikes, threatened the man before repeatedly striking him about the face.

He was knocked to the ground and the offenders stole his mobile phone, vape device, and headphones.

Detective Constable Kate Hardy, from Nottinghamshire Police, expressed that the victim had simply been attempting to walk home when he was singled out for attack. She noted that the man not only suffered physical assault but also had his personal property forcibly taken from him. She described robbery as a dreadful and highly serious crime capable of causing long-term harm to those affected, both psychologically and frequently in physical and financial ways. She stated that officers are committed to locating the three e-bike riders they believe were responsible.

The detective urged anyone with knowledge of the robbers’ identities to contact police without delay. She acknowledged that given the timing of the incident, few people would have been present to witness it directly, but emphasised the importance of any such witnesses coming forward. Police are also appealing for anyone who may have captured the event on recording equipment, including CCTV systems, dash-cams, or doorbell cameras, to get in touch.

Information can be provided to police by telephoning 101 and referencing incident 74 of July 16, while the Crimestoppers anonymous reporting line on 0800 555 111 is also available.
